Warning - Mistake in Saving Notepad
« on: May 30, 2010, 03:22:58 AM »
The other day I spent around 8 hours doing research online.
As usual I made notes in Notepad.
At the end of the session I saved the Notepad.
When I went to re-open Notepad it was in an empty MS_DOS, even though I had saved it as a text file.

So what happened?
Well I saved the Notepad as addsends.com [as a text file].
As I wanted to use those notes for my new www.addsends.com website.
So I lost all my notes after doing 8 hours worth of research.

So the warning is - never add .com to the end of your file name when saving in Notepad.

Cheers,

Kitty.

Thanks for sharing,.... It also happened to me like that I was working on forum searching for the ranking of my client site and I spent my time on forum searching more than 5 hours and at last when I saved my file it completely saved but after a day when i think to start work the file didn't open and it gives some hidden error.
