How Do I Create Read Out Loud PDF's
Apr 23rd, 2009, 10:03am Quote Modify Remove
Q. I want to make a set of "Read out loud" PDF's for my Gran who is almost blind. I have written the stories in Microsoft word. How do I make them into Read Out Loud PDF's? I have downloaded the PDF program from the members area to my computer but I am stuck as what to do now.

A.
Open the story in microsoft word and select "print" from the drop down FILE menu.
A pop up box will appear with your default printer name. Select the printer "PDF995" in your printer name box. Select to print "All pages in range" and hit "OK".

You will see a progress bar as the document is changed into a PDF format. When the formatting has completed save the file to your desktop or any folder on your computer. [just make sure you remember where you put it]. Then close your word document.

Open your newly created PDF file - it should open in Adobe Reader. Select the "View" drop down menu.
Select Read Out Loud from within the view menu - then "Activate Read Out Loud" Once the activation is operational you can make further selections from the same menu for "Read This Page Only", "Read to End of Document", "Pause" and "Stop".
