Ads in Online Versions of Newspapers
« on: January 31, 2010, 07:06:59 PM »
Hallo, Chums!

I work for a daily newspaper (the Herald) and was talking to our New Media director last week. She said that the online version (heraldnet.com) of the daily paper receives five million hits per month! I went home wondering how I could get my product seen by a few of those visitors!

Online, I saw that there was a free ad available in Northsound Classifieds to individual sellers. So I created an online account and placed an online ad for The PDF Paypal Button Guide. I saw that not only was the ad free for two weeks starting next Wednesday in the print the print version of the Herald but also in the print version of the Enterprise newspaper which the Herald publishes every week. That's an online ad and two print ads all for free!

In my control panel for the ad, I can edit and administer all my ads. I can view how many times visitors have looked at my ad and see their comments and questions, offers, if I chose to allow offers (I didn't) and view my ad as it looks online. It published in 15 minutes online and any edits show up instantly.

I chose as a category: Merchandise-books & Magazines-Computing & Internet to keep the ad free. I have a title:
The PDF Paypal Button Guide - Make Money Online! and the body of the text reads:

The PDF Paypal Button Guide is a detailed 24 page .pdf ebook that shows how to insert PDF Paypal Buttons into Viral products such as online Newsletters, Catalogs, Fliers, ebooks, or Reports! Visit Zacapublishing.com for details!

You don't get much space so you need to keep the text short and concise. However, you get up to 16 FREE pictures with each ad! Amazing!

This is the ad!

Nothing ventured, nothing gained! But this could be a free traffic source, and "free" and "traffic" go good together!

Hi David,

Great advertising resource - thanks for adding it here.

I was going to leave a comment about how great your product is.

Unfortunately you have to sign up with the newspaper and they do not have an option for
people from Australia.

Cheers,

Kitty.

Kitty! You can bypass the newspaper and go directly to Kaango.com to place your free private party ads. I have now found the ad listed on Google again quite by accident while searching for something else!

I have not had any success so far, however. The ad has only been viewed 18 times as I write this, and no responses from the printed version, either!

It looks pretty but it isn't bring me any sales so far. Maybe some other product would work better, so I would not rule this method out just yet!

Good news is that I had a sale from a forum posting today, so YOUR methods certainly work!

:}

So instead of;

Hi David,
Congratulations!
You will notice now that you have edited your signature url, it appears as a live link back to your site on this and all your previous posts on this forum.

Google will love you for it and people can get to your site easily.

Make sure to go back to any other forums you may have posted in and edit your signature url as you have done here [if their rules permit it.]

Also make sure to visit my blog at:

 http://kimbro-makemoneyonline.blogspot.com/  on a daily basis as there are some great free software promotions on a daily basis. These are not free programs but offered for free for a limited time as an introductory marketing exercise.

For instance; Today the software being promoted is the full version of:

MultiStage Recovery is a professional file-recovery and undelete software for Windows. It is designed to quickly recover files from hard disks, floppy disks, flash drives, digital camera cards, and most other digital storage devices. The program supports all Windows file systems including NTFS/NTFS5, FAT12/FAT16/FAT32/VFAT. With an optimized algorithm and smart built-in cache system, the tool has incredibly fast scan of hard drives.

The program is available for $49, but is free for the visitors of Make Money Online today.

Every day there is a different software on offer for free, so if you are not interested in today's offer come back tomorrow and see what is on offer - I have obtained some really good software here, that I would have had to pay as much as $399 normally.

I want to emphasize that these are not trial versions - they are full working versions and include registration keys.

Cheers,

Kitty.
