New on the Forum
« on: January 27, 2010, 07:41:54 PM »
Hallo, Everybody! My name is David DeWitt, and I live in the USA in the Pacific Northwest, about thirty miles north of Seattle, in the state of Washington. My interests are Internet Marketing, writing (a few of my short stories were published in magazines, and in a book of short stories, and some articles were printed in newspapers back in the day), OTR (Old Time Radio Shows) and when I was younger, martial arts.

I am now the grand old age of 60, and after a recent serious illness am regaining my health, and planning to enjoy myself in the coming years by writing, and doing a bit of Internet Marketing.

I enjoy blogging, and have run a blog dedicated to the classic actor Errol Flynn at TheErrolFlynnBlog.com for the last three years.

I'm looking forward to posting on this forum.

Hallo, Rick! Thanks for the kind welcome, it's appreciated!

You will survive turning fifty, even sixty, and beyond! I have a good friend who is 76, Steve Hayes, that writes for a living in Hollywood having been a screenwriter for many years, and now is a successful novelist - he writes westerns and mysteries equally well, and he tells me not to worry about getting older, just worry about sentence structure... everything else takes care of itself!

Hi and a warm welcome David.

I have been reading your Errol Flynn Blog - and what a fascinating blog that is!
It is blogs like yours that make the internet such a great place.
I have placed it in my favorites and will return to keep reading.

I also love your "It's not weathering the storm; it is learning to dance in the rain..."

Seems to me you have really taken that attitude to heart when you wrote;

"I am now the grand old age of 60, and after a recent serious illness am regaining my health, and planning to enjoy myself in the coming years by writing, and doing a bit of Internet Marketing."

Again welcome to the forum, I am looking forward to your posts here.

Cheers,

Kitty.

Hallo, Kitty!

Thanks for your very kind comments about The Errol Flynn Blog; I have made many longlasting friendships via that blog which is a reward that has more value to me than any other. Some of the contributors are authors of books about Errol, others are producers of biographies and documentaries on DVD concerning Flynn that I have been able to contribute to because of my friendships at the blog and everybody is having a grand time together.

I look forward to posting here and getting to know everybody, and am very grateful to you for the invitation to join this forum.

I believe that you must have weathered a storm or two to be able to undestand what is meant about dancing in the rain, and I tip my hat to a fellow dancer...

Best always, David~

Hi Dave,
You are right.
I used to say when you are at the bottom of the barrel there is only one way to go -UP.
Then life taught me you can wander around on the bottom for quite a while.
When I learned to dance in the rain, my spirit lifted me right out of that trap.

Here is to a lot of dancing,

Cheers,

Kitty.
