Thanks for the review Rick.
Today I viewed a video from a famous [won't mention names] Guru who runs a big how to make money membership site.
The video was an instruction on how to clean your subscribers list in the Aweber autoresponder.
He said that it was important to clean out non- responsive list members.
Nothing wrong with that.
What astounded me was the reason he gave - to reduce monthly fees from Aweber.
That indicates to me that Aweber charges according to the size of your list. [not sure if this is true].
At any rate I am puzzled why these Gurus use any paid for autoresponders when they could install their own autoresponder scripts on their own hosting platforms.
I have never heard a Guru recommending that people should set up their own autoresponders, which would save their members monthly autoresponder fees of $29+ per month.
Are they all actually ignorant of the fact that you can set up your own in a matter of a few hours.
Or do they recommend you use a paid for version because they collect a monthly commission from the autoresponder company?
I don't see anything wrong with collecting a commission for their chosen autoresponder recommendations, to people who don't want to set up their own.
I recommend Norabots myself to those not wanting to set up their own autoresponders.
However I give people a choice and point out the advantages of setting up your own.
Advantages:
1] Far better delivery rate.
2] Total control - no limits to uploads.
3] Free to set up and no monthly fees.
Disadvantages:
1] You have to set it up yourself - if you have never set up a script on your hosing server - be prepared for a learning curve.
Now it is up to the individual, whether they are prepared to do it themselves, pay someone a one time fee to set it up for them or pay a monthly fee to an autoresponder company.
As a member of My Scribe Web you have all the scripts and tools to do it yourself.
I run a list of over 70,000 subscribers with the script available within the members area - I have never had to pay to run my list.
I found the learning curve on how to install the script was very interesting. Took me a day to set it all up - well worth the effort!
Adding new autoresponders takes about ten minutes and there are no limits as to how many I can set up.
Hope this info is useful.
Cheers,
Kitty.
