My Scribe Web Writing information.

Attention All Writers: The End Is Near.

Update -  This was written at the end  of 2007, but it still holds true  in 2012.

We are just days away from the end of 2007.

Perhaps this is a good time to take stock of the

events during the past year, before planing for

the New Year.

As the webmaster of MyScribeWeb a new membership site

for writers and web builders, I have been privileged

to gain some insight into the problems faced by writers

and web builders in general.

You may well ask what problems do writers and web builders have in common?

Writers need web builders or web building skills to promote themselves online.

Web builders need writers or writing skills to develop content for their web sites.

The Common Need.

As A Writer: After spending a couple of years writing a great novel the writer

is faced with the daunting task of getting published. Self publishing is an option,

however marketing your publication successfully, necessitates setting up a

marketing infrastructure, this includes building a web site.

Main stream publishers already have the marketing infrastructure set up.

Therefore getting your manuscript accepted by a main stream publisher is the ideal scenario.

However some Authors have taken advantage of the self publishing facilities, now online, with

outstanding success. The ability to get books printed and shipped on demand as they are ordered online

has encouraged a lot of Authors to self publish.

As A Web Builder: Having built a great site is useless if nobody knows it exists.

To get visitors to a site via the search engines the web builder must Search Engine Optimize [SEO]

the site to get the site indexed and ranked by the major search engines. Part of the SEO process is

creating original content and getting relevant back links to the site from other sites.

The best way to get relevant back links is by writing and submitting original articles.

So to sum up the “Common Need” both Writers and Web Builders need each other

 to promote themselves.

MyScribeWeb has addressed these problems by providing resources for

Writers/Authors, Ghost Writers, Poets, Publishers, Literary Agents and Web Builders.

A place where Writers, Web Builders and Publishers meet.

So as 2007 comes to an end let us welcome a new begining in 2008.
